EVENTS

LONDON - Christian Louboutin: a retrospective. Visit the first UK retrospective of the French shoe designer. The exhibit celebrates Louboutin's career to date and showcases 20 years of designs and inspiration.
 The Design Museum in London (until July 9). 

LONDON - London International Documentary Festival. Launched in 2007, the LIDF showcases a wide range of international film-making talent. This year's features are inspired by Arab cinema, sourcing 30 films from the region. Various locations (May 24-June 2).

HONG KONG - Sotheby's New Gallery Opening. Last weekend marked the opening of Sotheby's new 5,000-square-foot (1,394-square-metre) gallery space in central Hong Kong. The new space opened with Yayoi Kusama's Hong Kong Blooms in My Mind and Corot to Monet - French Landscape Painting in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries. Sotheby's Diamonds will also be opening its permanent Hong Kong salon as part of this space. One Pacific Place, Admiralty, 5th Floor (May 19-31).

STOCKHOLM Ingmar Bergman International Theatre Festival 2012. A festival celebrating Ingmar Bergman's contribution to the arts (May 27-June 6).

STOCKHOLM - Stockholm Photography Week. A week long celebration of photography taking place at the Swedish Museum of Photography (May 28-June 3).

FILMS

On the Road is one of the most anticipated competition selections at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. The film is an adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel of the same name directed by Walter Salles, produced by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Sam Riley as Sal Paradise and Garrett Hedlund as Dean Moriarty.
